CODE GREEN: The Examiner's Ecology Special, a dedicated issue published by The Examiner in partnership with the Archdiocesan Office for Environment (AOE) in August 2025. This publication highlights the Church's commitment to environmental stewardship, featuring articles on green initiatives, action plans, and ecological challenges faced in Mumbai. It includes over 40 articles that discuss the environmental ministry in Mumbai, the vision of the AOE, the influence of 'Laudato Si', and various green initiatives undertaken by parishes. Additionally, it presents action plans aimed at children, youth, and families.

The Examiner is India's oldest English-language Catholic weekly news magazine, commemorating its 175th anniversary in 2025. It plays a crucial role as a communication platform for the archdiocese.

We were privileged to be featured in this prestigious issue, alongside the Churches larger ecological mission.

The article details the beginnings and journey, highlighting the Eco Ambassadors Course's significant role in nurturing an eco-conscious mindset, which eventually led to the establishment of Wilson Eco Enterprise, encompassing Revive Design and ReNew Sculptures.

Collaborations with the Environmental Cell of Orlem led to successful projects such as the Bible Diary Collection and the launch of ReNew products at the ECO bazaar. This underscores the importance of collective efforts in achieving sustainability.

The special issue addresses a range of green and environmental topics, including the vision and objectives of the Archdiocesan Office for Environment in its efforts to create a "Green Diocese." It highlights how individual parishes in Mumbai are engaging in green initiatives and outlines the functions and methods of the environmental ministry in the city. Additionally, the issue reflects on the impact of the papal encyclical 'Laudato Si' on environmental thought, featuring letters and reflections from Rome. It also discusses specific environmental challenges faced by Mumbai and presents community action plans tailored for children, youth, and families. Furthermore, the issue includes a list of organized "Eco-Walks" in the city and features environmental-themed liturgies and prayers.

This issue is essential reading! It will genuinely rekindle your passion and appreciation for the environment, offering practical tools and advice to make sustainability achievable in our lives, along with plenty of information on community initiatives.
